Awards
Best Chocolate Dessert Award. This award is for the best original chocolate dessert. Entries are judged on taste, texture, use of chocolate, originality and artistic presentation.
Best Chocolate Confection Award. This award is for the best original chocolate confection or candy. Entries are judged on taste, texture, use of chocolae and artistic apprearance.
People's choice Award Attendees at the event cast a ballot for their favorite dessert or confection.

Publicity
  1. 10,000 invitations are mailed.
  2. The 2009 event attracted over 600 patrons. 
  3. The event is included in all performance programs of the arts organizations prior to the event.
  4. Participants will be listed as Grand Givers in newsletters and programs for an entire year starting in March 2010
  5. Over 100,000 people attend the arts activities of these groups throughout a calendar year.
  6. The event and participants will be publicized through local radio and television programming and written media, including daily, weekly and monthly publications.
  7. Minnesota Monthly is one of our sponsors providing very generous advertisement space as well as additional promotional materials for the event.


Guidelines

  1. The 2010 Chef Participation Form found on this page must be submitted. Contact us as soon as possible to reserve your spot.
  2. There is no charge to chefs or chocolatiers for participating in this event.
  3. Ten chocolatiers have been admitted to the competition.
  4. Three plated desserts must be entered for tasting by the judges plus one additional for display.
  5. 700 plated tastes must be supplied for patrons.
  6. Servers must be supplied by the chef or chocolatier.
  7. Printed materials may be distributed at tables, but only if they don't require that the attendee fill out information at the table.
  8. No refrigeration on site.
  9. Two tables will be provided for each vendor; one for preparation and one for presentation and service to the public.
  10. Proceeds support the Bloomington fine Arts Council and its member organizations.
  11. The public attends the event from 1-5 p.m. During that time, you have the opportunity to meet the public, share your desserts, and promote your business.

Judging
The blind judging takes place between 11am and 1 pm, before the public is admitted to the event.
